Here’s What Our Clients Have to Say About Us:

I see a lot of patients including youngsters in their early twenties or thirties with stress/ fatigue/ aches, pains and joint injuries, mostly related to poor lifestyle or stress. Tai Chi not only helps in bringing a sense of calm in your everyday life, but it also strengthens the core. I have nothing but gratitude for Mrs. Cicily Thomas who has helped in making this renowned art accessible to all.

I have been practicing Tai chi for a while and on a personal note, it has reduced my stress levels and improved my core strength as well. We all need a healthy body and mind to be happy and productive. An organisation grows when it’s members are healthy.

Dr. M. J. Vinod Kumar

I find Tai Chi to be a great combination of physical exercise and mental relaxation. At the end of a busy day, spending just 30 minutes doing Tai Chi is calming and it refreshes me.  It is a wonderful way to de-stress from a busy work day. It has also brought about a number of improvements in me. Tai Chi strengthens a number of different muscle groups, yet is gentle. Personally, it has helped me strengthen my lower back. I find that my ability to focus increases after every Tai Chi workout. I would highly recommend it for all individuals, irrespective of their age.

What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi (the real term is Tai Chi Chuan or Taiji quan), is an ancient Chinese martial art aimed at harmonising the body, mind and spirit. It is based on the philosophy of Yin and Yang (interdependence of the polarities/ opposite forces Female/male/, Night/day, etc…) and is also classified as  Meditation in Motion.

How does Tai Chi contribute to wellness and health of mind and body?

The slow, fluid, gentle movements of Tai chi have a very calming, therapeutic effect on the Soma (body). As the body is regulated, so is the breath… we do not need to make a concerted effort with breathing techniques as the breathing is inbuilt and gets deeper and longer with practice. A calm body contributes to a calm mind. When the mind is calm, clamouring and chattering ceases and there is clarity of thought and peace of mind. The movements, many of which are based on animal and bird poses, also stretch and massage each part of the body without straining it. This makes the body supple and flexible. The internal organs too get stimulated and perform optimally.

How does a Tai-chi retreat help attain fitness goals?

Tai-chi retreat, in a peaceful atmosphere, creates an opportunity for the body and mind to come into a calm and relaxed state to recuperate, recharge and heal. When the body and mind are regulated there is openness and non-resistance.

You are able to think better and get more creative. With a balanced mind and body, focusing on both your personal and professional goals and achieving this balance becomes a very positive experience, not something you have to grit your teeth and endure!

Is Qi healing part of Tai Chi?

Blockages in the meridians of the body lead to heath issues, depressions and all kinds of mental and physical conditions. An experienced Qi healing practitioner can enable your body to come into a resourceful state and enable the blockages to dissolve and allow free flow of Qi/energy to take place.

It is in fact, your own body’s innate intelligence or vital force that comes into the fore to enable the healing.
