“I used to struggle with stress and anxiety. Little things seemed to set me off and I was looking for an exercise that would calm me down. It was one of my friends who recommended Tai Chi. And after some research it seemed to be the solution. I joined Mrs Cicily Thomas’s class on August and it’s been 3 months and I’m quite happy to say I’m no longer facing the problem of anxiety. The early morning classes starting with a meditation calms down my mind and is very helpful for my relaxation.Currently I’m trying to learn to slow down and improve my balance as well as reduce my clumsiness. Tai Chi has helped me facing stress without feeling like it’s the end of the world. I would recommend these classes to anyone who wants mental relaxation.”

“I was only 30 years old when I needed to have my left hip replaced with implants. I had resigned myself to living life with limited muscular flexibility and movement, thinking something as simple as sitting cross-legged was no more a possibility. Today, after a couple of years of Tai Chi, I am able to do more than that. The repetitive slow movements mimic modern-day physiotherapy, but this ancient art form combines rehabilitation with strength, balance and grace. I never thought I would be able stand on my left leg, let alone kick with my right at the same time! And more than just enhanced physical abilities, quietude, improved concentration and quicker reflexes have made me a happier and more confident person. I’m glad to have learnt something so simple yet powerful that will keep me going even when I’m 70. Thank you, Tai Chi, and thank you especially Cicily for bearing with me so patiently.”
“It’s been two years since I started on the path of Tai Chi and Qigong with my teacher Cicily. I am now 68 years old.
Along the way I have shed my anxieties (for which I had initially joined the Tai Chi class), improved my health and my memory power.
This gentle practice has taught me to slow down and identify and ease the tensions in my mind and body.
Specifically, I do not catch colds as often, my fluctuating blood pressure has evened out and am able to see the humour in many frustrating situations.
Thank you Cicily for sharing your art so generously.”
“I joined Tai chi with Cicily a year ago. I have always been a fitness buff, working out 6 days a week, and have practiced yoga for the past 12 years. I have never been without injuries from my workouts and had to stop very often and correct my shoulder and back with a physiotherapist. After not doing any yoga for a year, I met Cicily and came to her tai chi class. I loved the quiet, the calm and the deep intensity of the meditation, and the slow strong movement, and concentration. I have never suffered even a twinge of pain due to any movements.
I am hooked for life. Thank you Cicily!
I am a partner at Anu&Susan, one of the first fashion design houses in Bangalore which was started 22 years ago.”
